Becker forced himself to stay still as he watched the timer counting down until the anomaly opener recharged.
30 long minutes in which anything could happen to J... to Lester.
His imagination went into overdrive, leaping from J.. Lester raising an eyebrow at his tardy arrival to – he clamped down on that thought, Lester would never view the hired help in that way.
His thoughts turned darker as the minutes ticked slowly on. What if he was too late and Lester was already dead, torn apart by the Future Predators.
No, he would be in time.
He had to be.
