<lj-cut text="Whatever He Had To><p>James Lester pulled into his drive after a long and harrowing week at the ARC.</p> <p>As he locked his car, a young boy raced from the house and flew into his arms.</p> <p>An older girl followed, slower than her brother until she smiled and flung herself at her father.</p> <p>As his children chattered about their week, Lester dropped to his knees and held them tight.</p> <p>His children were the reason he fought so hard to save the world, to keep them safe. To keep everyone's children safe.</p> <p>And he would do whatever he had to if it meant protecting them.</p>
