Lester didn't believe Anderson's CV for one moment. Normally he'd send it for shredding. Normally, but not now he'd met Anderson and been unable to sense anything.

Which meant one of three things.

Firstly, Anderson was shielding – but Lester hadn't heard of any new arrivals in the magical community.

Secondary, he was a powerful supernatural entity. Unlikely but not something Lester could dismiss out of hand.

Lastly, he was a blank slate. Someone immune to almost every spell Lester could cast.

Whichever the answer, Lester knew he would be employing Matthew Anderson. If only to keep an eye on him.
