Lorraine was beginning to feel like a recording, parroting the same line about Sir James being indisposed. She’d managed to reschedule all of her boss’ meetings and head off numerous phone calls… for now.

All she could do was hope Lyle managed to convince Sir James to go home before either his headache developed into a full blown migraine or the minister called.

Her curse when her phone rang had Lyle poking his head out from Sir James’ office. “It’s the minister.”

Lyle nodded. “Puffin? The minister’s on the line. Are you absolutely sure you don’t want to go home?”
