A/N: For P100 prompt 809: Time Travel. Set in my Smokescreen 'verse.
The Anomalies were clearly dangerous, and not just from the creatures who stalked through to sow mayhem. No, the temptation to travel in time and alter events ‘for the better’ would be irresistible; with no thought of the chaos such meddling might – would – unleash. Chaos which might lead to different, possibly worse, disasters.
No, the truth must remain secret and not just from the general public.
I gave a wry smile, dinner tonight with Christine would become a tactical meeting of how to stop Sir Henry Farnsworth-Smyth learning the complete truth and on how to keep the idiot in power.
