The tasteful, understated yet suitably expensive flowers I had carefully selected and arranged to be delivered to Lorraine was a start. Except I knew I had behaved like an absolute shit, even if… No, that was no excuse for my actions.
With my thoughts on what else I could buy, my steps lead me to a road I didn’t often frequent and I smiled when I noticed a shop. A slab of Lorraine’s favourite chocolate from Hotel Chocolat would, I hoped, serve to show my contrition. Even if we both knew it wouldn’t stop a repeat on another bad day.
