I’d had so many dreams of leaving this world a better place than I had found it. Of helping people, the world to a brighter, greener future.

Yet as I stared up at the ominous, swirling clouds above New Dawn, I understood that Helen had lied to me. That she had used my want, no, my need to be remembered for prosperity.

And, I realised that if Anderson was correct – I shivered as I remembered the scenes he’d described – I would be remembered.

But not as the saviour of humanity but as its destroyer.

But maybe there was still time...
