A/N: For P100 prompt 771: Extinction Level Event. The 8th in my Cry Wolf ‘verse.
Helen travelled the anomalies to find answers and saw no reason to stop her search for knowledge because she was locked up. “So, it never happened?”
Lester turned back to her, his head tilted as he considered her. “You’ll have to be somewhat less succinct than that.”
“The Chicxulub Impact Event.”
“The meteor that caused the extinction of the dinosaurs in this world?” Helen leaned forward when Lester paused before continuing, “Not as such. The meteor hit the Pacific Ocean. It still changed the world’s climate and localised extinctions occurred…” Lester gestured to himself. “But those who could adapt evolved.”
