Connor's mind refused to accept this was it as he stood silently in front of the grave.
It couldn't be true, it had to be some terrible mistake.
Tears leaked from his eyes and ran down his face as Connor stared at the name carved indelibly into the gravestone.
He collapsed to his knees, his head bowed, as his fingers dug deep into the newly-turned earth.
Connor's heart forever broke in two as he remembered their last breakfast on that fateful day.
They had talked and laughed as they had made plans for the future that would now never come.
