Sir James Lester grunted and crumpled over the hard fist driven into his stomach, spitting blood in his interrogator’s eye when he was hauled back upright. He’d been trained by the best in resisting torture and he wasn’t about to give his captors any information about the ARC, no matter what pressure or pain they applied.

Then Matt was dragged into Lester’s cell and he realised the hardest thing wasn’t not answering the questions. No, it was knowing his lover would have to watch him in pain and that Matt would be the next to suffer when Lester remained silent.
