When I reluctantly took on the ARC Directorship, I hadn’t expected it to change my life quite so drastically. Not the anomalies or extinct creatures, but the friendship I gained almost without noticing. People who stood by me rather than stabbing me in the back, a rather refreshing change from my previous posts.
More than that, I found someone I realised I cared about as more than a friend, someone I thought I could spend the rest of my life with… and I could only hope they felt the same.
I took a breath and knocked firmly on the door.
