A/N: For P100 prompt 705: Jigsaw Puzzle. Maybe a bit of a sideswipe? Also for Nick & Ryan month.
Nick glared at the matrix. He knew he was missing some vital clue, the final piece of the puzzle and then he’d be able to predict where and when an anomaly would open. Once he could do that, they’d be able to arrive before a creature wandered through and someone, something died.
He rubbed his aching chest and sighed, if only Helen had helped them instead of trying to destroy them.
“It is bothering you today?”
Nick sighed. “I just can’t figure it out.”
“I meant the scar,” Ryan said, stepping in for a kiss. “You’ll figure it out, Nick.”
