A/N: For P100 prompt 689 - "Tell me the truth." Part 25 of my Ice Age drabble series and follows Mistake Identity. Not quite sure how well this meets the prompt, but I need to read up on killer kappa for my essay.
Lester leaned against a convenient stone, one from where he could keep an eye on both the supposedly impending anomaly and the other on his surroundings, namely one Helen Cutter. His irksome companion was leaning against her own stone, casually cleaning her nails with a large knife.
“Can I help you?”
“I doubt it, not without some ulterior motive.”
“Really, James, after all I’ve done for you.” When Lester merely raised an eyebrow, Helen added, “I could have left you to die.”
“Except you need my help. Maybe its time you tell me the truth about why you need me.”
