James Lester’s record spoke for itself; his success rate was higher than his peers and any collateral damage usually less. His name was the first his superiors considered when their political masters ordered a seemingly impossible mission.
Most involved detailed planning, extensive contingency plans and a simple application of his skills, his experience allowing him to quickly react to changing circumstances.
Occasionally he called upon his other ability, one he never had and never would inform his superiors about. No, Shadow was his secret weapon, his way of hiding in plain sight. For who really paid attention to a ‘dog’?
