Becker sighed as he took in his lover’s tired, defeated posture. “James?”
“You heard?”
Becker winced at Lester’s tone. “Yes.”
“Jess?”
“She thought you were… upset.”
Lester sighed. “I should have known it would be for me. Not after… Parliament.”
Becker almost flinched at what Lester hadn’t said, about all those lost on his watch, before he frowned. “They can’t blame you for that. The ARC was shut down.”
“When did logic come into it?”
Becker nodded and draw Lester in for a kiss. “They are idiots.”
“Was that ever in doubt?”
“How about I make it up to you?”
