Ryan fell sprawling and his weapon flying when the future predator crashed into him. He realised that skeleton was his own and knew this was the end. He could do nothing but wait and cried out when the creature fell on him.

It took several minutes for Ryan to realise the pain meant he was still alive. For now. He grunted when the creature moved, bracing himself for its attack when it flopped onto its back.

He blinked as a hand appeared before him, grasping it as Cutter hauled him to his feet and helped him back through the anomaly.
