A/N: For P100 prompt 571: Ice Age. Also for my Primeval Bingo (card 9) prompt: Festivals and Celebrations.
Lester closed his eyes at the banners and balloons, but at least his lover and his co-conspirators had confined their activities to the break-room and not his office. It appeared the impending ministerial visit had a silver-lining after all.
“Happy birthday, James.” Connor grinned and brandished the cake, making Lester wince until Jenny rescued it.
Lester eyed the cake, at least there were only a symbolic number of candles on it. Although his eyebrow quirked at the decoration. “Con?”
“It's Manny,” Connor exclaimed excitedly. “You remember, from Ice Age.”
“Quite,” Lester muttered, hoping no-one else picked up on that comment.
