Lester needed a break, the ARC had grown claustrophobic over the long, cold and hard winter. He stepped out onto the roof, drawing the crisp, clean air into his lungs, and stopped. For all he needed to be out of the ARC, he had little wish to look down at them.

Curiosity finally had him approaching the edge, a hand on the railing as he peered over. The car park was pleasantly empty of any dead, even better, as he looked further, he could see the first sign of spring. Maybe they now had a chance, as life renewed itself.
