Lester knew from experience that civilisation was but a thin veneer which concealed the savagery of the human heart. Oh, he'd skimmed that line once or twice but he'd never crossed it. He might, however, make an exception for Helen bloody Cutter, and not just because the information she refused to share could save lives.
He shook his head and took a deep, calming breath before entering the interrogation room. Helen might have tried to kill his lover, but he would never sink to her level. He would never forgive himself if he did, more than that, neither would Nick.
