“Come out with me?”
Lester just gazed at the captain, noticing Ryan appeared almost as shocked by his words as Lester was. He opened his mouth to turn Ryan down; no matter how much he wanted what Ryan was apparently offering, Lester knew nothing good came out of office romance. Certainly his brief, if intense, relationship with Christine had ended badly. Or would have, Lester mused, if their boss hadn't spotted the explosive situation and rapidly dispatched them to opposite sides of the world.
Yet, meeting Ryan's uncertain yet hopeful gaze, Lester knew he'd risk all once more. “Certainly, Tom.”
