A/N: For P100 prompt 502: Keeping Warm. Set in my Under The Moonlight Wolfverse series.
James swore when the wind cut through him, earning himself a nervous smile from his companion. He crouched tighter into the scant cover their position provided, but it did little to lessen the wind and James knew they couldn't move. Not if the wanted to catch their suspect in the act.
Fuck! If he was alone he'd have Shifted into Shadow; the wolf's thick fur would have kept him warm.
But no, his boss had saddled him with a new recruit, to 'show the man the ropes' and it cut down his options.
Not just the ones for keeping warm.
