He was alone.

He'd been surrounded by the comforting scent of his family and now they were gone.

He was alone.

Surrounded by strange smells and things, by sounds that hurt his ears. He reared, his feet smashing down to silence the painful noise coming from in front of him.

He was...

He paused, smelling one of his own kind. Not his family, but the familiar scent drew him for he was not meant to be alone. Never alone.

He was trapped. He could still smell the other but he couldn't see them. He trumpeted in fear.

He was alone.
