Becker choked on the foul air as he waved the last few stragglers of humanity through the anomaly. His eyes widened as the death-cloud which had lain waste to the world bore down on his position. “Go! Now!” He paused, scanning the area one final time for anyone left, before he threw himself through. “Close it!”
“Bloody fool,” Lester growled as he hauled Becker to his feet.
Becker gasped as he took in his surroundings, it had been too many months since he'd last seen sunshine and blue skies. “My God!”
Lester kissed him. “Welcome to our new start, Becks.”
