James took their drinks back into the lounge, smiling as he watched Matt staring out of the window. “Enjoying the view?”

“I...” Matt turned towards him; his features impassive to anyone who didn't know every wonderful inch of him, although his bemusement was obvious to James. “What does it all mean, James?” he asked as he gestured outside.

“That some people have no sense of moderation or taste,” James murmured as he wrapped an arm around Matt's waist and curled his lip in disdain at the riot of glaring lights that appeared to festoon every surface of the house opposite.
