The need gnawed at him, chasing all other thoughts from his mind.

Bright light pierced his eyes.

Pain.

Danger.

He had to get away.

Back into the shadows.

Protecting.

Sheltering.

Safe.

He heard a distant voice asking if he needed help.

He smiled, the need would soon be sated.

He bowed his head to hide his bared teeth as a soft moan beckoning the man towards him.

Closer.

Closer.

Now!

He leapt onto his prey. A brief struggle as his teeth bit deep and he tasted blood.

He staggered away. The need fulfilled for the young now had a host.
