Becker peered helplessly into the murk, starting when a shape appeared in the gloom. His hand tightened on the EMD, if it was a predator...

A half-sob burst from his throat when Becker recognised the shape, running towards it. “You risked everything...” Becker's angry words were cut off when Matt kissed him.

“I had to, Hils,” Matt murmured as he caressed his husband's face. “It was what I came here to do.”

Becker hissed out a breath before nodding. “And I would have done the same.”

“I am sorry for worrying you.”

“You should be,” Becker stated. “You and Lester.”
