“James?” Connor had such plans for tonight.
“In here, Con.”
Connor's grin faded when he walked in on James and a stranger. “Er... hi.”
“Con,” James rose to kiss Connor. “This is Dmitri, an old friend.” He smiled, although it didn't reach his eyes. “He's got some interesting information on Burton.”
“Oh?” Connor enquired.
“Da.” Dmitri replied. “He has been dealing with some of the old fractions of the...” He glanced at Connor. “Well, not people to cross... and I understand Burton might not have told been totally honest with them.”
Connor noticed Dmitri's smile didn't reach his eyes either.
