James sat down beside his wife, his eyes fixed on the sky.

“Do you remember how we used to sit outside and just stare up at the stars? You would lean against me and we'd talk about our dreams for the future. What we would do together.”

James closed his eyes for a moment.

“We had so many dreams, that world cruise once I'd retired.” James gave a short laugh. “You always said we'd never do it as I never would.”

He turned to face the gravestone as fresh tears ran down his face. “I'm sorry.”
