A/N: For the P100 challenge 349: Self-control. Part of my Making An Impression drabble series.
Lester snapped his mobile closed with a quiet “Fuck!” He looked up sharply as he heard Lorraine trying to delay the minister and swore again. He took several deep breaths and was calm and collected by the time the minister strolled into his office. He rose and held a hand out. “Minister? What can I help you with?”
As the chatted and discussed Anomaly related matters, Lester found himself having to concentrate on his façade as the minister asked surprisingly astute leading questions.
Damn him for believing Burton and damn Burton for thinking he had any chance in outmanoeuvring him.
