Primeval drabble: Sharing His Good News

Title: Sharing His Good News
Author: knitekat
Word Count: 100
Characters: Philip Burton, April Leonard
Rating: 12
Disclaimer: Primeval belongs to Impossible Pictures. Certainly not me. Writing for fun and will replace.
A/N: For the P100 challenge 345: Tidings of Comfort and Joy. Part of my Making An Impression drabble series. Thanks go to Fred for casting her eye over this for me.

Burton strolled into the New Dawn control centre. “April? Are we ready?”

April looked up from her checklist. “Yes, Philip. We are ready for the test run.”

Burton quickly ran own checks. “Excellent. Start the count down for initialisation.”

Burton almost held his breath, even though he knew it wouldn't work at 100% until Convergence, this test was important. If it didn't work now...

His gaze was fixed on the readout, the figures slowly inching upwards until they reached the required level for a successful test. “Excellent work.” Burton smiled, soon he would share his good news with the world.

Eek! Are they going to be tidings of comfort and joy? I doubt it.

Yeah, I don't think anyone will be too thrilled with Burton's "good news." Nice!

Uh oh. That's not good...

Oh nicely ironic - 'his good news with the world'.
Things are hotting up.

Oh, no! I don't think it's good news at all.

I think we all want to wipe that smug look off his face.
