Primeval drabble: Halloween Past

Title: Halloween Past
Author: knitekat
Word Count: 100
Characters: James Lester/Connor Temple
Rating: 12
Disclaimer: Primeval belongs to Impossible Pictures. Certainly not me. Writing for fun and will replace.
A/N: For the P100 challenge 339: Trick or Treat. Part of my Making An Impression drabble series and follows The Undiscovered Country. Potentially angsty. Thanks go to Fred for casting an eye over it for me.

Connor snuggled back against James as the credits rolled. “What did you do for Halloween?”

“Con?” James sounded confused in his half-asleep mumble.

Connor squirmed around, apologising for a misplaced elbow, until he could look James in the eye. “Dad used to take me trick and treating, just the two of us. I used to dress up.”

“I can imagine.”

“Didn't you when you were a kid?”

“No, not really.” James paused before reluctantly adding, “I used to go with my kids.”

“Oh.” Connor pulled himself up for a kiss. “Sorry.”

“Not your fault, Con.” James sighed. “Why the questions?”

Maybe it's a chance for Connor to find out more about his step-kids. I get the impression that James doesn't see them much, reading between the lines.

James' relationship with his kids was referred to in a previous drabble (Return To Sender), but you'd be right.

Thanks for reading.
