A/N: For the P100 challenge 333: Past Challenges and 89: Fools Rush In. Part 23 of my Strange Bedfellows drabble series and follows If At First You Don't Succeed.
Lyle looked up as the door unlocked, tensing as he readied himself for any opportunity to escape. The door swung open, but no one was there. Lyle wondered if he should take the chance – it smelt like a trap yet his thumbs weren't itching.
He carefully peered out the door, his eyes checking for any danger. There, in the shadows, a figure moved... one of the clones. Was this one of Helen's mad-as-a-box-of-frogs plans?
But his thumbs weren’t itching and he knew he had to risk it... even if James always said he was too impulsive for his own good.
