Connor quickly minimized his laptop screen when James sat down beside him, grabbing his arm when James flinched and started to get up. “I'm trying to hack Philip's systems, James. If you didn't know, you wouldn't have to lie to him.”

James quirked an eyebrow. “You think I can't fool that man?”

“I know you can, but I didn't want you to have to lie to the minister as well.”

“Hmm, good idea.” He leaned over for a kiss before standing up. “Ice cream?”

“Yes, please,” Connor smiled before opening the window again. Now to find James the perfect gift.
