Title: The Price Of Distraction
Author: knitekat
Word Count: 100
Characters: James Lester, Helen Cutter, Jon Lyle (OC)
Rating: 12
Disclaimer: Primeval belongs to Impossible Pictures. Certainly not me. Writing for fun and will replace.
A/N: For the P100 challenge 324: Battle Scars. Part 13 of my Strange Bedfellows drabble series and follows Substitution. Thanks go to Fred for casting her eye over it for me, cheers m'dear.
The news that they'd been set up by Helen didn't surprise James, not considering her apparent pathological need to play games with people's lives. He'd started to enquire for more details when he found himself knocked down, the reek of rotting meat in his nostrils. Sharp claws dug into his back before he heard a heavy thud.
James gasped as hands pressed against his back and he heard Jon cry out, “Helen!”
Helen - it must be her tending to his wounds - spoke calmly. “Sit down before you fall down, Jon. It's just a few scratches, he'll be fine. Sit, Jon!”

What is the plural of series, anyway? Aw, sad, I just looked it up and the plural of series is series. How pedestrian. I think I'll keep mine...
