Connor woke, turned over and squeaked when he met Philip's gaze. It was creepy to think that Philip had been watching him sleeping and the smug smile on Philip's face didn't help.
“I see you kept my gifts”
“Um,” Connor stuttered, desperately glancing at the door for rescue. He almost relaxed when James appeared in answer to his plea, before catching the hatred in Philip's eyes.
“Philip!” James' voice was dangerously low.
The two men glared at each other and Connor knew the confrontation that had been brewing for months between them was about to come to its brutal denoucement.
