Primeval drabble: Mad Dogs And Englishmen
Jun. 28th, 2013 09:39 pmTitle: Mad Dogs And Englishmen
Author: knitekat
Word Count: 100
Characters: James Lester, Jon Lyle (OC), Helen Cutter
Rating: 12
Disclaimer: Primeval belongs to Impossible Pictures and Lyle belongs to Fred. Certainly not me. Writing for fun and will replace.
A/N: For the P100 challenge 321: High Noon. Part 10 of my Strange Bedfellows drabble series and continues from The Long Walk. Thanks go to Fred for casting her eye over this.
James settled Jon in the scant shade provided by a lone outcrop of rock thrusting upwards from the parched land. He squeezed Jon's shoulder before joining Helen as she stared out over the desolation they still had to cross.
James wonder if they'd make it, Jon wasn't the only one exhausted, and they still had miles to walk across a harsh wasteland where dust devils played amongst the bleached and scattered bones of others who had tried to cross it.
“We'll miss the anomaly.”
James looked up at Helen, a smile flickering across his face. “Mad dogs and Englishmen, Helen.”
