The creature was still following them and James couldn't help his fears, looking at Connor lying so vulnerably on the trolley. If only he'd talked to Connor before the anomaly, his... Connor wouldn't have been so distracted.
James made his decision and slowly dropped back until he trailed the group. He stopped when they entered a suitable room and barred the doors between them. The hammering on the door was an unwelcome reminded of Hart's... not the type of thought to entertain right now.
“Once more unto the breach”, he muttered as the creature appeared, all sharp teeth and claws.
