Primeval drabble: He Couldn't Stay
Title: He Couldn't Stay
Author: knitekat
Word Count: 100
Characters: James Lester, OWC
Rating: 12
Disclaimer: Primeval belongs to Impossible Pictures. Certainly not me. Writing for fun and will replace.
A/N: For the P100 challenge 278: Picture Prompt. Part of my Dreams Of Yesterday drabble series and set after Refusing To Surrender. Thanks go to Fred for looking it over for me, cheers m'dear.
James stumbled to a stop when he realised the jungle had changed to rocks and canyons. He cursed softly, he must really be out of it not to have noticed he'd gone through an anomaly.
He turned and hurried back to the, thankfully still open, anomaly as fast as he could. He wouldn't leave Abby; she'd be waiting for him and he'd never come.
The cub whimpered and hid, and James looked up as he heard the buzz of an aircraft.
James didn't pause as he stepped back into the past. Even if this was his time, he couldn't stay.
