Primeval drabble: Three Terrible Days
Title: Three Terrible Days
Author: knitekat
Word Count: 100
Characters: James Lester
Rating: 15
Disclaimer: Primeval belongs to Impossible Pictures. Certainly not me. Writing for fun and will replace.
A/N: For the P100 challenge 271: Worst Day Ever. Part of my Dreams Of Yesterday drabble series and how could this not be this? Thanks go to Fred for looking it over for me.
James had watched in awe when Steff sat the boys down and told them mummy wasn't well. She'd handled them – and him – perfectly that day; and he hoped he'd manage the same calm explanation when he had to tell them mummy wasn't coming home.
He had thought those were the worse days of his life, but he'd been wrong.
James managed to keep his emotions suppressed as he took the condolences of his family, friends and co-workers when all he wanted to do was fall to his knees by Steff's grave and howl his grief to the world.

I don't know what is worse, the funeral or taking the condolenses afterwards. I have always have hated those polite phrases people say to you in such situation.

I don't know what to say to this. It was so agonising and so sad and I can imagine Ben Miller pulling of this scene to perfection.
Well done, nicely done, excellent? Those comments don't really do this drabble justice.
