James' vision blurred and he had to grab for the nearest object to remain upright as he swayed. A close encounter with the floor was not on his agenda. Apart from the pain and indignity of it all, he doubted he'd regain his feet again.
James held his breath as footsteps approached. Swallowing as he overheard the order, “Find Lester. Don't let him escape. Shoot to kill if necessary.”
James crept away. He needed to get out of here, wherever here was, now.
He turned a corner and almost fell into someone's arms.
A familiar voice asked, “Enjoying your stroll?”
