Abby stared into the fire, trying not to remember how terrible the food tasted last time she'd been lost in the past. The bulbs and roots had been either bland or vile no matter how much they had prepared them. She'd liked the fruits and fish, but it was the wrong season for fruit and the fish were too dangerous.

“It's ready,” James called out from were he had been preparing their meal.

Abby took a plate and reluctantly took a bite. She gasped at James. “This is wonderful.”

“Worth the wait?”

“Definitely.” Abby savoured another bite. “You're cooking tomorrow.”
