Connor allowed Becker to guide him towards the car. His fear growing with every minute James was in Ethan's hands. He was a cold blooded killer and...
He stared out of the car's window as it took him back to the ARC. Watching without really seeing as Becker's men and the police cordoned off the scene from the crowd gathered in morbid curiosity.
It was only hours later that Connor dropped his mug with a gasp. Ethan had been there, one of the crowd. Standing in the open and no-one had noticed him. How could they not have seen him?
Ethan pulled his coat collar up and kept his head down as he stood amongst the curious crowd. He observed the police forensic team entering the flat and smiled to himself. He had been careful to leave the flat exactly as he had wanted it.
Ethan's attention was caught as Becker helped Connor into a car. He had to fight the urge to duck when the boy glanced his way. It would draw too much attention to himself and Ethan had no wish to do that. Not yet. He had plans and they would take time to set in motion.
