A/N: For the Denial Teamfest drabble tree challenge for Nick and the prompt: trust.
Nick sighed softly as he watched Stephen moving about the ARC, performing all of his tasks and even a few of Nick's that he couldn't be bothered to do. He was obviously desperately seeking Nick's forgiveness.
Nick almost wished he could or that he could rewind the past. If he had never stepped though an anomaly, he would never have learned of Stephen's betrayal of his trust, but he knew he couldn't. Messing about in the past was what Helen was interested in, but Nick had learned far too well that altering the past could lead to people disappearing forever.
